What a great week, (If I do say so myself!)

Man, summer is just FLYING by! In one month, I'll officially be back at work for pre-planning. CRRRAZYYYY. Definitely have to enjoy the next four weeks. So let's kick that off by talking about what made my week shall we??

1. Bubble necklaces are the bomb!
I've seen the J.Crew bubble necklace all over the place. Obviously, you all know I ADORE necklaces. But I would never EVER drop 150 dollars on one. That's insane. But thanks to both Jessica at Lovely Little Things and Erin at Living in Yellow, I discovered Cheerfully Charmed. She makes these necklaces and the best part is they are buy 2 get 1 free! Mine came yesterday and I couldn't be more excited to wear them!

2. Birchbox
My July Birchbox came yesterday as well. I actually love everything inside of it. It came with a full size liquid eyeliner, some Boscia B.B. cream (which is great, I've been looking for a new primer), some hair products, a Larabar (yum!), Harvey Prince perfume (which smells divine) and some cool new headphones (cannot wait to rock these out at the gym!).

I've been slacking on the working out/eating healthy thing the last two weeks and it's affected me. I made a goal to go to the gym at least four days this week and I've done it! Plus, I'm going later tonight to my favorite class! Score!

Don't you love this picture? This was taken last year. We were imitating Bridesmaids. :)  Anywho, the fourth thing I'm happy for this week is that last night I had fabulous phone date with my really good friend Lauren (aka the bride). She was my closest friend in college, and even though she lives in Nashville and I live in Jacksonville, we try our best to stay in touch.

Oldie but a goodie

My mom is one hard working lady, and despite the fact that I do live with her, I NEVER get to see her. So this week, I got to go to lunch with her at Olive Garden. We split some soup and salad and a delicious apple tart. Love her so much!

So those are my 5 things! I'm linking up with Lauren at My Grey Desk Blog for High Five for Friday! Go link up! How was your week?

Current Crush

I'm linking up with Danielle at Framed Frosting and Niki at Gumdrops & Gloss for Current Crush Thursday.

This week's crush isn't a current one; it's an ALL THE TIME one. :) I adore long necklaces. I think they complete any outfit. Below are some of my favorite finds and some that I really want!

1. I just love the colors in this long necklace from Target. It could go with many different things.
2. It's hard to see, but this necklace has some pink and silver crystals. I bought it from NY and Company.
3. This black necklace is from Forever 21. I got it for seven dollars. Love that it's simple.
4. This necklace is from NY and Company. I love the teal beads.
5. Another fun colored long necklace. This one is from Forever 21.

Necklaces are my go to accessories. I feel incomplete when my outfit doesn't have one.

Shopping and Ghost Stories

I realized the name of my blog is Laughter, Love and Necklaces, and I've yet to post a picture of me actually wearing one. I have quite the necklace collection and the one I wore today got me a lot of compliments:

I love teal and this necklace is awesome. Yes, I'm the lameo taking a picture in the Loft fitting room. Loft had an amazing sale today, half off everything with a special coupon. I had a gift card from the parents and got a pair of shorts, and two shirts for 12 dollars! Score!

After shopping, I met up J. His mom is in town, so we took her to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is one of my favorite places on the planet for multiple reasons:
  • The history. I'm the biggest history geek and love that it's the oldest city in the USA.
  • The atmosphere. St Augustine is just such a laid back place, despite all the tourists.
  • And last but not least, because of this place:

This would be a picture of Flagler College, where I went to school. Beautiful isn't it? It was originally the Ponce De Leon Hotel built in 1888 by Henry Flagler. Flagler is right in the middle of the touristy area and is a National Landmark. I had the best time there! /end gushfest/.

J, his mom and I walked all over St. Augustine and I gave her a tour of the public areas of the school. I ended up showing her what is a classic Flagler artifact.: the tile on the floor with Henry Flagler's face on it:

Legend has it that Henry Flagler's funeral took place in the rotunda of the hotel. A hotel janitor closed all the doors and windows (despite Flagler always wanting them opened). Hotel workers dropped Henry Flagler's casket and his spirit, having no where to go because everything was closed, flew into this tile. Neat, huh?

Now there's a huge possibility that it was put there on purpose. Each piece of the tile was hand laid, and Flagler had a sense of humor. For instance, he had the dining hall designed so that depending on where you sat you could hear the conversation across the room. He did this so he could hear people talking about the hotel. But I like the ghost story, better don't you?

All in all, despite it being hot as you know what, it was a great day! Speaking of ghost stories, what's the best one you've ever heard?
